| Saturday July 25th | Guide to NATURAL HORSE and HOOF Care | GUIDE TO NATURAL HOOF and HORSE CARE: The Swedish Hoof School's Canadian Seminar is being held in Huntsville Ontario this summer on July 25-26, 2009. This is an invaluable information session for anyone who is interested in hoof care (and that should be all of us... owners, veterinarians, traditional farriers, barefoot trimmers, boarding facilities etc.!). Held at the Huntsville High School (library) at 58 Brunel Road, Huntsville. Ove Lind is a passionate and well-researched advocate of the Natural Horse Care movement in Europe and has an impressive repertoire of case studies and theories. His focus is on the overall health of the hoof and the whole horse, and not on the barefoot versus shod debate. He will explain hoof function and anatomy, discuss feeding and nutrition options, review and introduce environmental factors that help or hinder horsekeeping, and explain his trimming methods. It's a jammed-packed weekend full of information and anecdotes that may well answer a few questions, create a few more, and certainly provide additional information that will allow you to speak knowledgeably with your farrier and veterinarian. The more education we all have, the better choices we can all make for our equines! Please visit the website www.SwedishHoofSchool.com directly for registration and payment. Tickets are $190 in advance (PayPal) and $220 at the door. Limited seating. Canadian contact for questions: BARNBOOTS at www.barnboots.ca or info@barnboots.ca.
