Each year veterinary hospitals throughout Ontario hold special events in honour of the Farley Foundation during the month long fundraising campaign. Why is the Farley Foundation necessary? Pets are important to the health & well being of their owners. This is particularly true for the elderly or persons with disabilities, who depend heavily on their pets for companionship. That’s why the Farley Foundation provides funding for the veterinary services to elderly or disabled pet owners who can’t otherwise afford such treatment. How can you help? Cottage Country Animal Clinic is hosting the 2nd annual Farley Foundation fundraising BBQ & Walk a Thon on Sunday October 3rd, 2010 (Rain or Shine!) and we are in need of quality donations for prizes to be raffled off to raise money for this great cause. (In order for us to have enough time to put prize tables together donations will need to be ready for us to pick up by September 10th). If you’re interested in walking, pledge forms for the walk can be picked up at Cottage Country Animal Clinic. | Friday October 15th | Parry Sound Dragon's Den | The Regional Economic Development Advisory Committee (REDAC) has taken the CBC hit Dragon' s Den to a whole new level and is planning their very own Parry Sound Dragon' s Den. REDAC is currently looking for possible dragon investors, entrepreneurs/business owners, and audience members for this event. Entrepreneurs can be anyone who would like to expand, modify, or start a business in the West Parry Sound Area or someone that has a great idea but needs some investment capital to get started. The dragons will be people that are interested in economic development in the West Parry Sound Area and are willing to invest their own money to support new or existing businesses. Dragons will have the opportunity to make deals with the entrepreneurs and business owners for equity in their company, mentoring opportunities, loans and/or any other possible comments regarding their business plans. The Parry Sound Dragon' s Den will be held on Friday October 15th at 7:30pm at the Charles W. Stockey Centre and audience members are welcome, tickets are $10.
